It’s all systems go for the 2019 Edmonton Filipino-Canadian Basketball League (EFCBL) on Sunday, October 20, at the Abbotsfield Recreation Centre.
EFCBL president Ronnie Dioso and organizing committee member Roel Divina announced that they will have 15 teams this season with five entered in the Master’s Division and the rest in the Open Division.
EFCBL started in 2017 with just four teams, Dioso said.
Divina added that they wanted to promote camaraderie among members of the Filipino community and holding of basketball games, the Philippines’ No.1 sport, is an effective way to achieve it.
Aside from the conduct of games, they said that out of the registration fee, they will also be appropriating funds to donate it as part of their charity work.(pinoy edmonton news service)
