PSA Edmonton-Crosstown Auto Centre to compete in `Inter-City Battle of the Champions’

The Philippine Sports Association(PSA)-Edmonton, backed by Crosstown Auto Centre, is sending a team to the Westsprings Basketball League dubbed “Inter-City Battle of the Champions” on November 16 to 17.

PSA president Gary Perpetua said they are hoping that they will be able to perform well in the two-day league at the CSB Athletics Centre in Calgary.

“This is a good opportunity for our young players to showcase their talent, malay natin, baka may makakitang scout or si Coach Eric Altamirano or Coach Andy De Guzman or kung sino mang makakatulong sa players. Thank you po Kay Boss Joe Medina and Boss Chester Tiongson ng CROSSTOWN Auto Centre,” said Perpetua.

The PSA, a 23-year-old sports organization, has been a strong partner of Crosstown Auto Centre in basketball development in the province. Crosstown Auto Centre president Joe Medina also plays in the Master’s Division of the league with Ches Tiongson serving as playing coach.

Westsprings basketball organizers have announced that they will be forming a Team Alberta to join the National Basketball Training Center (NBTC) program of coach Eric Altamirano in the Philippines.(p.e.n. service)
