Zumbathon for Mindanao Earthquake victims on Dec.1

The Dabawenyos Cultural Assistance Society (DCAS) is organizing a Zumbathon for Mindanao Earthquake victims on Dec.1 at the Game Time Indoor Playground.

DCAS president Robert Torrejon said funds raised will be used to purchase tents, hygiene kits, rice and canned goods.

“We would like also to do our share to help,” said Torrejon.

Tickets are sold at $10 minimum.

The event is organized in coordination with the Edmonton ZUMBA Instructors.

A 6.3 magnitude earthquake hit Mindanao, one of the three major islands in the Philippines, last Oct. 16 that killed seven and injured 215. The second earthquake followed on October 29 with a magnitude of 6.6 and the third on October 31 with a magnitude of 6.5. Twenty-one people have died and 424 injured. (pinoy edmonton news service)
