City of Edmonton continues safe relaunch of services
Edmontonians can safely access additional summer activities and services as the City continues its relaunch plans.
“With each service, attraction or facility we relaunch, the City is taking a careful and measured approach that balances public safety with a commitment to supporting healthy and vibrant communities,” said Interim City Manager Adam Laughlin. “We’re asking Edmontonians to continue to support these efforts by following all public health guidelines and safety measures that are in place.”
The Ambleside Eco Station will resume operations on July 8, after serving as a COVID-19 drive-thru testing site in support of Alberta Health Services’ pandemic response. A total of 34,715 tests were completed at the site since March 20. The facility has undergone deep cleaning and sterilization in accordance with AHS recommendations. All Eco Stations are open to the public from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week.
The Edmonton Waste Management Centre (EWMC) is now operating with modified hours, open weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and weekends from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. To avoid lineups, Edmontonians are encouraged to visit the EWMC earlier in the day.
As part of the City’s commitment to encouraging vitality and prosperity in our communities, garage sales are permitted effective July 3. Operators are required to ensure appropriate physical distancing and safety measures are in place. Edmontonians are encouraged to visit edmonton.ca/garagesales to learn how to safely visit and host garage sales.
The City of Edmonton is now offering a limited number of golf lessons at Victoria and Riverside Golf Courses. Edmontonians can build their golf skills in a small class setting and learn from a golf professional.
