After an impressive round-robin that saw the Edmonton Stingers lock up top spot with a 5-1 record, it’s win or go home now as they battle the expansion Ottawa Blackjacks in the Summer Series semifinals.
Edmonton clinched top spot, and a bye into the semifinal after beating the Guelph Nighthawks on Monday.
Ottawa beat the Nighthawks on Thursday in their quarterfinal to advance to today’s semifinal clash.
The Stingers beat Ottawa, 89-82 on July 27, and have been a perfect 5-0 since.
This battle between two high-scoring point guards will be fun to watch. Reigning CEBL MVP, Xavier Moon has picked up right where he left off leading the Stingers offensively, and Hanlan has hit some clutch game-winning shots for the Blackjacks, who have caught fire after starting the Summer Series 0-2.(pr)
