VERY IMPORTANT AND URGENT FOR FOREIGNERS/CANADIAN PASSPORT HOLDERS WHO WISH TO TRAVEL TO THE PHILIPPINES DURING THE PANDEMIC
UPDATE ON PHILIPPINE ENTRY REGULATIONS
20 November 2020 — The Philippine Consulate General (PCG) in Calgary informs the public of the following updates on current entry restrictions to the Philippines:
A. Pursuant to Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF- EID) Resolution No.60 dated 230 July 2020, the following may be allowed to enter the Philippines provided that they hold valid visas or obtain them at Philippine
Foreign spouses of Filipino nationals;
Foreign minor children, and foreign children with special
needs regardless of age, of Filipino citizens; and
Foreign parents of minor Filipino children and of Filipino children with special needs regardless of age.
B. Pursuant to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Foreign Service Circular No. 42-2020 dated 20 November 2020, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, the entry into the Philippines of the nationals mentioned in Item A above must be for the purpose of family reunification. This is consistent with the rationale of the IATF.
In this regard, visa applications of these nationals must establish that the Filipino spouse, parent/s, and/or child/children of said foreign nationals are currently in the Philippines or will be travelling with the latter.
Proof of this may include the following:
- Airline tickets of Filipino spouse and/or child;
- School enrollment records of Filipino child / children in the Philippines;
- Philippine immigration arrival stamps on their passports; and/or
- Affidavits or certifications signed by local government officials where the Filipino spouse or child/children reside, attesting that they are indeed in their place of residence in the Philippines.
