MANILA (Philippines News Agency) – A magnitude 5.7 earthquake hit Davao Oriental on Monday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
The tectonic quake struck 211 kilometers southeast of the municipality of Governor Generoso around 8 a.m.
It had a depth of 44 km.
Instrumental Intensity II was recorded in General Santos City; Alabel, and Kiamba, Sarangani, and Instrumental Intensity I in Koronadal City, South Cotabato.
Instrumental intensity is measured using intensity meter that measures ground acceleration.
Meanwhile, Phivolcs said both aftershocks and damages are not expected from the magnitude 5.7 quake.
On Sunday, two quakes rocked North Cotabato and Davao del Sur provinces, at 7:28 a.m. and 12:22 p.m., respectively. (PNA)
