EDMONTON, ALBERTA — The second edition of the Philippine Media Association of Alberta’s “Meet The Press” is on Sunday, September 5, 10:30 a.m. at Palabok House Restaurant, 10525 51 Avenue NW.

PMAA president Nicky Gocuan said that the guest is Edmonton mayoral candidate Malik Chukwudi.

In his website malikformayor.ca, his platform includes the promotion of business growth environment, diversification of the economy, addressing social challenges, improvement of infrastructure development and transportation, reduction of debt and taxes.

“Malik Chukwudi will tell us details of his plans and this is going to be an interesting Q and A,” said Gocuan, a long-time newsman in the Philippines before moving to Canada.

The first edition last Sunday, August 29, Member of Parliament for Edmonton West, Kelly McCauley was the guest.

Gocuan said that the “Meet The Press” event is a weekly interview of invited guests to give them another venue to discuss their plans and platform and explain further why they are running for public office.

Canadians are casting their votes on September 20 for the federation elections and on October 18 for the municipal elections.

Gocuan said that the “Meet The Press” is the second project by the PMAA after successfully hosting the Edmonton Mayoral Candidates’ Forum last August 14 where seven out of 10 candidates were present to talk about their platforms.

Gocuan said that the “Meet The Press” is open to all media practitioners who would like to ask questions.(PR)
