Citywide parking ban ends November 20 at 7 p.m.
The citywide parking ban will be lifted this evening, Saturday, November 20, at 7 p.m.
During Phase 1, City and contractor crews worked 24 hours a day to clear snow and ice accumulation from arterial roads, collector roads, bus routes (roads marked with seasonal no parking signage), and roads within business improvement areas.
“We thank Edmontonians for their support in moving their vehicles, which allowed our crews to effectively and efficiently clear the roadways and ensure safe and reliable travel throughout the city,” said Andrew Grant, General Supervisor, Infrastructure Field Operations.
Edmontonians should be prepared for parking bans throughout the winter. The City will always provide a minimum of eight hours notice prior to a ban taking effect. Edmontonians are encouraged to stay connected with the news, social media, edmonton.ca, or call 311 during snow and ice events to confirm if a parking ban is in effect.
Motorists are reminded to drive to conditions and maintain a safe stopping distance. Cyclists, pedestrians and motorists should take extra care and watch out for each other.
