Mitacs Internship Program

We are investing $15 million from 2025 to 2028 to expand the Mitacs Internship Program, creating over 3,000 internships for post-secondary students and recent graduates.

This program supports jobs in research and development, technology, engineering, sciences and other innovation-driven fields.

This investment will enhance hands-on learning—helping students gain real-world experience while supporting our industries and driving innovation across the province.

The Inclusive Spaces Program Grant is now open!

Child care is for everyone, and we’re making it more inclusive.

This grant supports licensed private and non-profit child care providers in meeting the diverse needs of all children.

From installing wheelchair ramps, to adding cultural resources or creating accessible playgrounds, we’re empowering daycare facilities, preschools and family day homes to set every child up for success.

General holiday time off and pay

Alberta’s employment standards set out rules for holidays, wages, hours, time off and termination. You may be eligible for time off with pay or extra pay for working on a general holiday.
