Family Day Unplugged

The City of Edmonton is proud to support Family Day Unplugged, an initiative through the Edmonton Evergreen Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) that encourages residents to take a break from technology and spend quality time with their most important social network – their family. Examples of unplugged activities include anything from a family board game, baking together or participating in one of the many events happening throughout the city.

Residents are encourage to share their favourite unplugged activities through the City of Edmonton Twitter page (@CityofEdmonton) for a chance to win a family prize pack. To be entered, participants must use the hashtag #familydayunplugged and send in their “I Unplug To…” picture completed with their hobby of choice. The contest will begin Friday, February 13 and will end at midnight on Family Day, Monday, February 16.

Starting Tuesday, February 17, a short survey will be available for residents on the City of Edmonton website to describe their experience with Family Day Unplugged and log their disconnected hours to make Edmonton the most unplugged community within the Edmonton Evergreen Region. Residents who participate in the survey will also be entered to win another family prize pack.
