More public washrooms and water systems are to be built in the Philippines with funding coming from the net proceeds of a benefit concert on Saturday, October 14, in Edmonton.
Organized by the Dabawenyos Cultural Assistance Society, tickets are only sold at $25 that will include snacks.
“We organized events every year to help those who are in need of basic services in the Philippines,” said Robert Torrejon, president of the organization.
The benefit concert will feature the Jess Valdez Switch Band and Jam for a Cause starting at 7 p.m. at the OTS Hall, 2104 156 Street.
To cover the expenses for the one-night concert, Wheaton Honda, Park Pinoy/Park Mazda, Dorothy Cornel/Ryan Paluca, Quality Sleep Care/Alberta Medical/Medicus Clinic, Dental Oasis & Swish Dental, WFG World Financial Group (4803 87 Street), Max’s Restaurant, Rainbow Vacuum and Filipino Drives came in as major sponsors.
