
Bayani Alcantara is the new president of the Philippine Business Society of Alberta (PBSA).
Alcantara, owner of Panciteria de Manila Restaurant, will be serving as PBSA head for the next two years.
He succeeded Celso Andrade, owner of Sunfreight Cargo.
“The new executive board and directors are excited to serve our members and the Filipino community with enthusiasm. We will be constantly working positive relation with the different Filipino organizations and other organizations in the community. We will maintain the vision and mission of the group and continue the projects of my predecessor,” said Alcantara in a statement released to Pinoy Edmonton News (p.e.n.) Service.
The election was held last night at Rolymie Restaurant that also saw the election of Virginia Sumalinog, owner of Ellwood Daycare, as vice-president, succeeding Alcantara, Pia Liberty, owner of Liberty Auto, as secretary and realtor Loida Lumanlan as treasurer.
