EDMONTON, AB – FC Edmonton and Raul Tito have reached an agreement to terminate his contract for the 2021 season, and issue the following statement:

“FC Edmonton and Raul Tito have reached an agreement to terminate his contact for the 2021 season.” said Eric Newendorp, FC Edmonton General Manager.

“The club was looking forward to Raul being in Edmonton to showcase his talents and help us win, and the club did everything we could to get Raul into Canada and join the team With the ongoing travel restrictions and complications due to the pandemic, and because of the immediate needs of both the team and the roster and of Raul and his playing career, it became clear that this was the best course of action for everyone.” Newendorp continued “We thank Raul for his time with us, and wish only the best for him, his family, and his future.”

The 24-year-old Peruvian midfielder signed with FC Edmonton for the 2020 season but was unable to join the team for the Island Games in PEI due to the COVID-19 pandemic and travel restrictions in place at the time. Tito’s contract was then restructured and extended to include him in the squad for the 2021 season.

Tito has featured 46 times in the Peruvian first division and has featured twice in the historic tournament, Copa Sudamericana. The 23-year-old winger has international experience as he represented Peru at the U-20 level.
Before signing with FC Edmonton, Tito featured 10 times for Cienciano and prior to that he featured 30 times for Sport Rosario.
