MANILA – Former Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Commissioner Jose Emmanuel “Noli” Eala has been named chair of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), Malacañang announced Tuesday.

“We confirm the appointment of Mr. Noli Eala as chairman of the Philippine Sports Commission,” Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles said in a press statement.

The Office of the President also released an Aug. 30 letter confirming Eala’s appointment. It was signed by Executive Secretary Vic Rodriguez.

Eala, who will be the PSC’s 11th chair, will replace William Ramirez.
