There are now 301 people in hospital, including 63 in ICU. Sadly, 3 new deaths were reported over the past 24hrs. My condolences go to the families, friends & anyone mourning the loss of a loved one today. (2/4)

To date, we have administered about 635K doses of vaccine in AB. Currently, ppl eligible in Phase 2B born in 1963 or earlier can book through participating pharmacies. For a list of those pharmacies, please visit https://t.co/wRVUTUHqeA. Ppl in earlier phases can also book. (3/4)

We are at another turning point in this pandemic. Our numbers are rising, but by making good choices in the days ahead, we can reverse this trend in the weeks to come. Please continue to follow the health measures that are in place & help protect those around you. (4/4)

News Release

David Shepherd, NDP Critic for Health, made the following statement:

“Today’s case numbers reach a level we haven’t seen since mid-January, and include yet another record number of variant cases.

“These trends are deeply concerning, and I know they raise serious questions for Alberta families and businesses about what the coming weeks will hold. I am disappointed that no one in the government stepped forward to answer these questions today.

“Jason Kenney owes parents, students, employers and workers as much notice as possible if a return to public health restrictions is indicated in his internal modelling. He cannot allow the chaos within his government to distract him from his primary responsibility to keep Albertans safe.”
