Get ready to soak up the fun as spray parks start to open across Edmonton
Edmontonians can beat the heat as the City of Edmonton’s 73 spray parks start to open.
Spray park openings will begin in a phased approach across the city. It is anticipated that approximately 25 per cent of the City’s available spray parks will be open by the end of the day Friday, May 12. Most others will open before May long weekend. Due to recent above-normal temperatures, the City has expedited the opening of these parks ahead of schedule.
“We have seen some above-normal temperatures over the last few weeks and we know everyone is excited about getting outside to cool off and enjoying a local spray park,” said Caitlin Zerebeski, Director of Infrastructure Maintenance. “Our teams, across the City, have been working hard on preparing these parks for the season and we’ve been able to start opening various locations ahead of schedule and will continue working hard over the coming week to have most of them open.”
