Associate Minister of Immigration and Multiculturalism Muhammad Yaseen issued this statement on Philippine Heritage Month:

“June is Philippine Heritage Month in Alberta. With inspiring energy and generous optimism, Canada’s second-largest Filipino community has brought enormous benefits to our province.

“In business, the arts, health care, education, through faith communities and public service, newcomers from the Philippines, and Albertans of Filipino heritage, have helped to shape a modern, vibrant and multicultural Alberta – a land we can all be proud of.

“I invite everyone to take time this month to learn more about the heritage, culture and contributions of Alberta’s Filipino community. This is a great time to explore the wealth of our province’s incredible diversity, to build understanding and to create more inclusive communities.”
